| Nation Affiliate | Scosche GM 2000
I recently purchased a Pioneer DEH-P590IB. Then I realized that I would lose my factory chimes and warnings, so I bought this at Wal-Mart today for 40 bucks. Walmart.com: Scosche GM2000 Class II Car Stereo Replacement Interface Module and Harness: Auto Electronics My question is for those who have purchased this unit. What chimes do I get and what differences do I need to expect from the factory setup? Is this interface reliable? Anything I need to know? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not reliable. I used the GM2000 to install Ron - The Wolf!'s Pioneer D3 and it lasted maybe a year. The chimes come from the harness adapter's speaker. |

i dont like anything Scoshe personally. I used to work at an audioshop and we used PAC, Metra, American Installers. Any time someone brought us anything scoshe it seemed to stop working or break while we were installing it |

Ive had it for close to a year and never had any problems. The dinger comes from a speaker box on the harness... I find it loud / annoying so I wrapped tape around it to quiet it down. I still like to be able to hear it but its TOO loud.

The one that crutchfield sent me came with a spot on the circuit board that you can cut to lower the speaker volume. I love it you can just barely hear the chime, but it's just loud enough to hear.

You can change the volume on the Scosche one as well... the directions are in the box. I think you adjust it with the panel lighting knob.
