Re: No door locks

I am pretty sure your steering wheel never locked. I have not seen a 355 with a locking steering wheel. I have heard of people having issues like that with the door locks and drivers window. I think it is some kind of protection mode for the BCM or something. From what I have read it clears up on its own. Someone else with more knowledge will chime in I'm sure.

Re: No door locks

I thought they didn't put the steering wheel locks on the newer vehicles because of the PassLock system. I have had 2 06' Colorados and an 03' Silverado and none of them had a steering wheel lock.

Edit: I just did a search and found a thread that says some do lock and some don't. I wonder why that is?

Re: No door locks

You can also diconnect the negitive battery terminal for 15-30 minutes to reset the BCM. I have an 04 that I bought new, and this has only happend twice to me.

Re: No door locks

I just had this happen when I installed my HIDS & relay. The drivers window does not roll down using the switch. I can however roll down the other 3. The door lock switch does not work as well. What do I need to do? Thanks!

Re: No door locks

Recently installed an Optima and had the same problem. Door locks quit working along with the driver's side window. Tried the tricks mentioned above and they still didn't work.

Took the trim plate off the armrest and removed the switch from the plate. Took the switch apart and removed the circuit board. Discharged the capacitors with a 12V light bulb. Put everything back together and the locks and window now work.

Re: No door locks

Most likely the BCM picked up a weird voltage change at some point and went into 'safe mode', disabling the driver window and power door locks. Resetting the BCM by disconnecting the neg battery terminal for 30 minutes like others have stated above, or just waiting it out will correct it. I've done it numerous times messing with crap on my truck. It's the trucks way of telling you that something isn't quite right with the electrical. It's very picky.

Although I have never heard of the steering wheel lock. Not even sure if mine has that.
