New keys cut

Any idea how much it would cost to cut new key from the VIN, I have lost my key and have no idea where. also if anyone has any instruction for hot wiring our truck I am interested

Last time I had one done at the dealer it was $6-8 somewhere in that range. Does your key have the chip? It may be a bit more then.

no its doesn't have the chip, its a 2005, when you went in did they have to cut the key just using the VIN or did you just have an extra copy made from your original?

Any GM dealer can cut you a new key from your VIN. Your need to show proof of ownership. But it'll cost you less then $10.

Whoa, thats a hell of alot more than 10 bucks, did you order new keyfobs to, cause i dont have those.

When I had mine cut it cost me $50 and I have to have my Insurace Agency fax a copy of my insurace card because I couldn't get in the truck to get proof of ownership. And to top it all off it didn't work. Good Luck
