Question Window won't work!

I was playing with my speakers today and went to put the door panel back together, that went fine, but when I tried the window it wouldn't work; door look switch either. This has happened before, but I tried everything I can think of; resetting the bcm by pullin the neg on the battery, I also pulled the switch assembly plugs back out and plugged those back in to see if this would work(it has before) but I got nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advanced.

Re: Window won't work!

no and I've tried every suggestion I've heard... GM dealer might be my next stop but they're probably gonna wanna charge a shit ton of money thats why i might just convert my drivers side window to manual crank lol because i really don't care that much i just want to be able to put it down

Re: Window won't work!

Guys, no reset will happen with just pulling the negative, got to pull both cables, BEFORE, you unplug any harnesses, and plug the harnesses back in before you put the battery cables back on. Then make sure that you put the negative back on first then the positive. Also remove the negative first. Make sure you have them both off the battery at least 45 minutes to an hour. I had the same issues you guys are having and this solved my problems. I got it from the tech at the local chevy dealer.

Re: Window won't work!

yup pull both connections from the battery touch them together and leave it like that over night so it drains the capacitor then hook them back up in the morning and give it another go.

Also make ure the pins in the connector for the door switch are properly seated.

Re: Window won't work!

No only if you touch the terminals together with voltage hooked up to them. If they are both off and away from the battery it just pulls the voltage from the capacitor in the computer and grounds it. If you just pull one terminal off the battery the capacitor keeps the memory working so you want that capacitor drained so the memory is reset fully.

This happened to my mom's truck, also, a couple of years ago.

I hate our BCMs.

Re: Window won't work!

This was all resolved after talking to a friend of mine who is a retired GM warrenty person, he seems to know every code there is out ther with every symptom. I give him the problem(s), he replies with the exact answer and fix.
