Ya its do able but costly and to get it to fit Ur going to need a pa 3in body lift new tc rebuilt 4l60e along with the adapter plate and a lot of computer tuning

It's more work than it is worth. The adapter plate for the 4L60E and size of the 4BT makes the drivetrain really awkwardly sized compared to stock. I seen a ranger in person and it was insane the work he did to shoehorn it in there.

If you have a hefty budget and a lot of time on your hands though go for it, you definitely won't regret it in the long run. Those motors are torque monsters.

been talked about before way too much work and all new gauges and a lot of rewiring. a ls series v8 is simpler and will make some good power.

With the 750 lbs of 4 cylinder in a colorado, I dont think the front suspension would enjoy it much.

the 3.9l isuzu 4bdt2 is a lot lighter than the cummins 4bt and both are 3.9l turbocharged diesels.

Look the epa says diesel swaps are year model or newer that's it not the other way around if Ur really gungho about it sit back and see what's going to come out my bet is Nissan and jeep they will have a 2.8 and a 3.0 just save some money and well see what happends diesel power coverd this in This months mag and things are looking good so far
