Re: I5 to 6liter

You can run a/c. All I need are lines and I'd have it. My 5.3's compressor cleared frame rail just fine.

Stock fuel pump failed, or a pump you put in it did?

Re: I5 to 6liter

If you need pics of putting one in, I have a bunch. I harassed another board member when I was doing it, so I took pictures to put together a how to but I haven't gotten that far.

Re: I5 to 6liter

Step 1, remove this shitty brown cover on the assembly by prying against the two black retainers.

Step 2, remove pump from assembly

Step 3, slit the hose on the pump, hose clamp hose onto new pump.

Reassemble, drive truck without bed for fun. Rolling burnouts for days.

Drink.

Re: I5 to 6liter

Thank you i have a friend that owns a large salvage yard and he has a couple trucks with any parts i need. almost all the parts came from there thats how i was able to do the build so cheap. the whole truck came from one junk yard or another except motor and trans. last pic looked the easiest part lol.

Re: I5 to 6liter

My motor is a junkyard motor and my truck is an old work truck I found on ebay. I know the cheap route all too well, minus my transmission... That wasn't cheap.

Karlen, I can't wait for that how to, I'm interested in doing the swap but a bit trigger shy, so much so that I might just wait to buy a 2009 with v8...
