Thumbs up jtr has shorty headers for I-4 & I-5

So I saw on jtr website that they have shorty headers for I-4 and the I-5 . Price is $300 for I-4 and no price on shorty for I-5 . Can't be more than the longtubes which are $420 or $520 coated. I-4 is $100 off regular price for the first one sold , installed and do write up on. Not bad for someone with an I-4. Both bolt right up , only modification required is to extend o2 sensor wire. Check em out.

Hmm, interesting!

Wonder if there was any dyno numbers or testing.

Re: jtr has shorty headers for I-4 & I-5

Well here you 4 banger guys go!

From the JTR webpage:
Headers:
All our headers are available with either mild steel or ceramic coating. Ceramic coating adds $100.

New: 4-Cylinder Colorado Header. This is a shorty style header that bolts on to 2004 through 2006 models with no modifications, except the requirement to extend the wiring to the oxygen sensor. Not emissions legal. Fits 2wd and 4wd. Uses stock gasket, and hardware.

$300 for plain steel.

Note: We haven't sold any of the 4-cylinder headers, and are offering a $100 discount to the first person who purchases one, and gives us feedback of the installation, and whether or not there are any problems we are not aware of. Must include pictures of the finished installation.

From the JTR webpage:
"Coming soon. 5-cylinder shorty style header. Bolts in with no modifications, except the requirement to extend the wiring to the oxygen sensor. Not emissions legal. Fits 2wd and 4x4".

Re: jtr has shorty headers for I-4 & I-5

The I-5 won't be ready for about another month or so.

And the reason for the $100 off the I-4 is because they are not positive everything is perfect with it yet. Basically if you are wanting to save the money, you might have to go through a little ass-pain if the header doesn't fit the first couple times..

Re: jtr has shorty headers for I-4 & I-5

This is what I got from Mike last week...

We should have the headers within three weeks. So if you need them sooner, we can not help, and you should probably find a replacement manifold.

We will be offering a discount for the first header or headers, with the understanding that there may be problems, and that the headers may need to be returned because of fitment problems. Again, if you do not have a replacement manifold, and the header does not work out, your truck will be out of commission, which can cause frustration and anger -- something I like to avoid.

The is the message I sent to someone who was interested in the 4-cylinder header (which is already available), the same applies to the 5-cylinder header, but the 5-cylinder header is not yet available.

"You are the first person to ask about the 4-cylinder header.
If you still want to be the guinea pig, please call 925-462-3619.

Most likely, you can still use the original donut between the manifold and the headpipe, but it may be a good idea to get a new one from the dealer, just in case.

If there are any problems, you can then put the stock manifold back on.

Extending the Oxygen sensor wiring is also required. The wires cannot be soldered, so the best bet is to use wirenuts to splice additional wiring."

If you are still interested, let us know, but like I noted above, they will not be ready for at least three weeks.

Why can't the o2 sensor wires be soldered?

possibly heat in the engine bay due to it's proximity to the header...

unless they personally inspect the entire exhaust system, they'll never know it's there. it doesn't throw any codes.
