Re: Catalytic converter problems?

Man I had a rich condition for a while with the codes I was throwing I replaced both O2's and both cam sensors(one on the front of the head and one on the side) the smell went away so I thought it was fixed. Then about a week ago I developed a rattle from right under the passenger door. It just happens when I take off from a stop. it might keep rattling but I can't hear it after I get moving.

Re: Catalytic converter problems?

With a clogged cat you basically lose all power or damn near all of it once the truck warms up. You would give it gas and the damn thing would hesitate like hell and barely start to go..

With a cat that's burned out you would actually not notice a thing but maybe some decel popping, a tinny sound from any remements left in the cat itself, maybe a leak from a burnthrough, and on top of all those, a slight unburnt fuel smell. MAYBE...

With a bad cat you either get clogged up, or you burn out all the catlyst inside the cat itself.

If I could weld it would be like $2 just for the pipe.
