Crazy engine issue

Ok so I was driving on the highway at about 45mph or so cause of a slow poke. When they exit I puched it and when the truck down shifted it instantaneously fell on its face. No power was being delivered, no engine light, no message, and it sputtered until it stalled out. When I restarted it there was no problem at all. It felt as if the fuel had been cut off. Has anyone experienced this or did I come across some other safety feature?

Re: Crazy engine issue

Could have been torque management if you don't have a tune that removed it.

I had a similar problem with my 2006 Canyon. I limped to a gas station and filled up with premium, Problem salved. Bad gas

Torque management is non existent. I've gone through most of the tank and I'm down to 1/4 tank and all of a sudden this happens. It felt as if the fuel just stopped feeding

Re: Crazy engine issue

Alright I'm with these guys then that it's most likely a fuel issue. How old is your fuel filter?

Re: Crazy engine issue

No message so could not be the traction control
No power loss nor misfire so I think its low probable could it be water in the tank.
I think is more related with the fuel pump, malfunction, poor electrical connection, short, etc, etc.

Re: Crazy engine issue

I'll second the fuel filter/pump. Also check the intake and intake manifold for leaks just in case.

Re: Crazy engine issue

It literally takes 2 min to change the filter, its right under where the driver sits.

Just make sure to remove the 15 amp fuse for the fuel pump and run your truck until it stops. That means that all the fuel pressure is dropped to 0
