Any home remedys out there?
I have had to crimp the channels down a bit before, to keep them in the track. Just becareful not to create a binding point when doing so. Put a little lube in the channel if need be...

I would try to locate what is causing the flex, if it is external from the assembly? EX: aftermarket door speaker hitting? etc etc

Re: How To: Replace Power Window, Regulator Assy., and Motor

FML...first the entire gear breaks off from the tack welds, then I replace the whole thing. Not even 3 weeks later the nylon wheel on the bottom track cracks in half! I hate going through drive thrus or drive up ATM's in such a nice truck, then having to open the door, hold it with my foot, reach as far as I can and almost fall out, foot comes off the brake, start to roll forward, etc, etc......

Do you guys think it would be worth replacing the guide channel along with the regulator? I'm wondering why its under so much tension/binding.

Thanks for the writeup!
So, I've got my old one out. Any opinions on the quality of the replacement regulators that are available online? Seems like I can get on for about 60 bucks w/shipping from an online seller. Locals like Advance or Autozone are around $120. Whadya think? Any experiences good or bad?

I have always used OEM replacement parts...
There may be a decent aftermarket option, I just have not used it myself. Maybe someone else can chime in if they have had sucess with aftermarket parts..

I've got two aftermarket motor/regulators I got from Rockauto. They were made by TYC and the only downside I have to complain about is they are slower than the OE going up

Thumbs up Re: How To: Replace Power Window, Regulator Assy., and Motor

Just wanted to say thanks for the writeup.... driver side window motor crapped itself just over a month after being submerged in muddy water... It was bound to happen, but I had my fingers crossed. Took me 3 days for this swap, due to my work schedule and receiving two bad regulators from my local Chevy dealership. First one the motor was already crapped out (think somebody pulled a switcheroo), second one was broken in the box, third worked like a charm!

Assuming I could have gotten a good replacement from the start, I'd imagine less than an hour start to finish for this repair. Thanks again!
