How to look up GM part numbers and get best price!

Found this great site wealth of info GM parts diagrams, part numbers, prices, interchange listings etc..

Search Chevrolet Auto Parts

-search by make model year then you can navigate around the various options. Also search by part number in the top right corner.

-to see a list of interchange enter your part number into the box, hit submit, than click "view product" for a list scroll to the bottom and you will see a interchange this is useful, when going to the wrecker.

Cheapest prices I can find are from this other site GM parts direct, there diagrams suck and they don't give any part numbers but using the two sites in conjunction sure works well!

gmpartsdirect.com: Alternate GM Catalog

screen shot part number look up;

Good write up. Removed the standard How-To format though I kept it in the MISC How-To forum. Didn't feel the top portion was needed.

Re: How to look up GM part numbers and get best price!

gmpartsdirect does have the cheapest prices however the rape you in shipping and their customer service blows. try finding their phone number to call them if you have a problem.

OEM Parts From GM Acdelco and Ford Motorcraft is the best site to buy from. they have an 8 dollar flat rate shipping quote and anything over 75 shipping is free. also you can call them 24/7 with any issue or questions you have.

Re: How to look up GM part numbers and get best price!

I found a local jobber who is the warehouse for the dealers...they are cheaper than the dealer, although not as cheap as GM Parts Direct. I needed the purge valve for my wife's Malibu i was listed at $30.89 from GM, $14.50 + ($15.00) shipping from GM parts Direct and $23.49 from the local jobber (tax included).

i guess I know where I'm getting parts from.....LOL

I still like to find the parts number and then search on ebay for it. Always seem to find cheap prices there.

Sweet! I need a "hook up" at the GM parts counter.. to bad you aren't local! Would you beable to lookup the part number for just the driverside power door switch plate (ebony) black for a 04 regualr cab, PW, PL, PM. I can only find a part number for what seems to be the switches and the plate asembly, and it says GM no longer has stock? If you can find the part number, and maybe a price/ avail. , that would be cool!

They only sell aftermarket parts, or a/c delco. GM part numbers come up with nothing
