I know the bolts are hard as hell to get to from the top. Wondering how hard it would be to pull off if you could get to the bolts through the wheel well... Maybe someone will chime in on this one. I am kind of interested too.

it just seems like a major PITA to take the whole damn thing off for something like that. through the wheel well might work though..idk if the bolts are near the purge solenoid but thats how i changed that. |

You might be able get it off without taking the manifold off. Its a shit ton easier to bolt it back on when there's no huge mass of useless plastic in the way though, thats for sure. Its going to be a bitch to take off if you don't just take the manifold off. And its pretty much going to break when you take it off. Oh and the easiest way to get to the bolts is to take the battery out first.

You should be able to bust the case off the manifold without removing it, its only plastic. Just be carefull of the manifold itself. Rip away, should be pretty easy. I took mine off with the manifold off but thats not the reason I took my manifold off.

its going to be a PITA to remove the case without damaging the cover. I tried for a while and jst got frustrated and just ripped it off.

Actually if you take a dremel tool you can cut out a square portion of the cover just over the vacum nipple. Here is the pictures to give you a reference. I have thought about cutting out a square access hole then covering it with aluminum plate and painting it to match. I think I am getting the leak myself. By the way the second pic is the intake without the cover.
