Re: No heat!!!!

I blows air but does not blow out heated air. I don't exactly know where the heater core is do you have a picture of the heater core?

Re: No heat!!!!

Behind the dash passenger side, there are two hoses running through the firewall on the passenger side under the hood, those are the heater core hoses, coming from the radiator, the two hoses at the center top of the picture below. The heater core is inside behind the dash right there.

Re: No heat!!!!

Hey man I just had a thread about no heat too. It was the cable for the baffle like captainrab said. Not saying this is it but it was simple and is easy to overlook. The cable has a plastic portion that clips to a metal holder on the dash. If it isn't clipped in it won't control the baffle. The cable will move but it really isn't doing anything. I have pics but dunno how to upload them from my phone...good luck

Re: No heat!!!!

Let start with the basics. Is the radiator full of coolant? Is the overflow bottle full of coolant to the full line? IF they are, then feel the hoses into and out of the heater core. Are they hot? If not, then you have a coolant flow problem to the heater. It is common to plug up a heater cores if you are using "Deathcool" antifreeze and air gets into the system. Have you had to add an appreciable amount of coolant in the past?

When you removed the radiator cap to check the level did you find any redish brown residue (either gooy or crystals) around the cap? If so then you have the Dexcool problem and it will need to be thoroughly chemically flushed.

If both heater hoses are hot, then coolant flow to the heater core is OK and you have an air flow problem across the heater core. At this point I would be checking the cable referred to in the previous postings.

Good luck.

Re: No heat!!!!

Remove your HVAC controls by popping off radio bezel and removing two small bolts, make sure both cables running parallel to the back of the HVAC control and crossing eachother are connected to the back of the turn nobs on the heat selecor, I had this problem and thats all it was

Re: No heat!!!!

Ok that sounds like it is the problem because my Heating and cooling knob has always be hard to turn and sounds like it is about to snap some times. I really don't use the heater until mid November because I live in AZ. So this problem seemed recent although it could be an old problem croping up now, instead of earlier. Thanks for all the input I really apreciate the help I will let you all know if that was the problem and if it soved it. And by the way TexasZ71 I did read your thread but scince you also had A/C problems i didn't read the entier thread lol. so I just posted this one for myself that my little brain could understand
