About the non-fouler mod...

first off WOOHOO!!! i can post finally!!

ok, so i got some questions about this removing of the cats before i do so.

if i remove both cats and do the non fouler mod to the second o2 sensor, will this or won't this mess up the air fuel ratio?

my research is telling me that the first o2 sensor determines the a/f ratio, and the second sensor just is telling the efficiency of the cat, is this or isn't this correct?

i want to get rid of the cats but i don't need any engine problems. i know what a lean condition can do to an engine and i don't need to be having any of that!

also, while you're in here reading. how much louder can i expect my exhaust to become? right now i have a flowmaster 40 series with stock piping...

thanks for helping with my first post!!

How To: 2nd Cat Delete for under $25

There is my thread of a cheap way to do it.

It will be a decent bit louder, I had that exact exhaust with a turndown, its wasnt OMG LOUD.. but by no means was it quiet..

I don't know the answer EXACTLY to your questions.. I just know many people have done it and had 0 problems, if anything I think mine ran a little bit lean.. I NEVER had a CEL from anything pertaining to it or anything like that..

hope that helps man..

Re: About the non-fouler mod...

I cant get my CEL to turn off... I don't understand what is wrong

I replaced the CAT and put in the non fouler just like the how to's and I now get a CEL after about 20-30mins of driving

I keep reading that the i4s have more issues but no one has a issue... likely will just reinstall the CAT soon

I have both my cats removed, no non-fouler and no CEL. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

Maybe I will try no non fouler and see if that fixes it. I have only tried it with the non fouler so.

Re: About the non-fouler mod...

my question is more of, what does the o2 sensors monitor? because if i move it away from the exhaust, will it or won't it mess with the air/fuel ratio
