Re: The sas conversion thread

IFS with bigger tires you burn through cv joints but you get a better ride down the road
SFA more flex depending on the set up it's endless opportunities and a lot stronger and some times with what axle set up almost indestructible!!!!!

Not really. There are two main reasons why an SAS is preferred over IFS. The needed articulation/suspension travel for rock crawling/ruts/difficult trails....or looks.

If you're on a trail, pile of rocks, or whatever, you're going at walking speed majority of the time. A true trail rig is running dual t cases, at around a 4:1 ratio, 5.29 gears, 35+ tires. Torque and traction matter more than hp. Turbo is not going to do much when you're at walking speed.

For mud, its debatable whether ifs is better or not. But there is only one truck in this thread that actually has a front drive shaft, so i'm not going to open that can of worms...

Re: The sas conversion thread

Looks good. I used to work at a local 4x4 shopas a fabricator and toyota mechanic. Built a bunch of link suspensions for toys and jeeps, not too many chevy SA/link conversions though...

You running hydro assist or anything? You running a toyota steering box?

No just the coils and air shocks I spent 2300 in parts and also a set of 185 just cus lol I'm liking the 165 as money comes I will upgrade as I go an yep the yota box I moved it about 3 inches forward to make room for the coils and I went with some thick ass tubing for the 3 link and panhar bar
