(already have the headunit, and dash kit, took it out of my s-10... hooks up to my phillips 20gb mp3 player through aux cable)
i dont want alot of bass, just tight responsive sound quality so i went witn a 8" that should fit well between all four seats...

:yeahthat: an 8" won't get the job done man. You at least need a 10 for good bass.

I think the 8 would do you good. If you get the cubic math right it should be right where you want it. If you really want the crisp sound a 10 might be a little to much, I had one and sold it cuz it was to much for my liking. I'm like you I don't need alot of bass just a little to enhance the listening pleasure. I wouldn't even think about 2 12's in these trucks unless its for competition. I was a previous owner of a ext cab full size chevy and 2 12's (kickers) were still way to much for that truck.

With what you listed and how I think you want your music to be you should be very happy.

i'm considering maybe not using the sub/mono amp and maybe just getting a better amp for the speakers,
I had Pioneer 4x6s and Alpine Type R 6.5"s in my s-10 with the same deck it wasnt too bad... but I think in this truck with those good Polk 6.5" and a good amp, same deck i should be alright... I don't know that I need the extra $500 or so for the sub/amp combo, and then I would have to buidl my box/console. I think it would look sweet and sound really good, jsut wondering if its worth the extra $500+ or so

$500 for sub amp combo is alot of green. I got 2 12 kickers, box and amp for for $300. You don't absolutly need a high end amp, a BOSS will do it for you. As for subs heck you don't even need a kicker or JBL. My 10 was a off brand and the box I made myself. Just get good wire, you will be set.

If you can't find a sub amp boc combo for $300 or under, your not looking hard enough lol.

Polk C400.4 100W-4channel Amp
8Ga Amp wiring Kit

BUUUUUUUTTTT they won't ship to Canada. The canadian site has nothing half decent on it, and they want $300Can for a pair of db6501s... where on the US site I can get one pair for $200 and the second for $100= $300 FOR TWO PAIR! $300US = $323Can.... useless

So not only will they not ship to canada, the canadian site is a joke, But they won't even ship my stuff to a UPS store near the border to pick it up!!!

I live 20mins from the Canada/US Border and 25mins from a US UPS store that I can pick up deliveries and they won't ship there more me....

.... anyone live near Ogdensburg/Canton NY lol :salute: ????

i've got a buddy that lives in Montana but then I would have to ship them to him (free shipping) but then pay to ship them to me in Canada, or jsut ship them to the UPS store in ogdensburg and pick them up, 2nd choice is cheaper and faster but more work.
