This guy is a member on another board I'm on. His 900sqft garage caught fire and he lost 3 cars and bikes, a project car and a shitload of tools :(

Needless to say I was at a loss of words.

1990 300ZXTT (cleanest Z I have ever seen in pictures)
1946 Harley Davidson Knucklehead
1971 Lamborghini Jarama
1971 Lotus Europa
2001 YZF R6
2004 YZF R1
Twin Hayabusa La Bala project

The shop.

My motorcycles, the R1 on the right, R6 on the left.

My twin Hayabusa powered project car.

'71 Lamborghini Jarama, 1 0f 177.

My toolboxes and other destruction.

R6 brake rotors.

Racecar transmission, notice straightcut gears. There is a '71 Lotus Europa underneath.
1946 Harley Davidson Knucklehead.

What's left of my 3 sets of track wheels.

Carbon fiber cloth is made of carbon = non flamable. The resin is however so I'm left with the fabric.

The boxes burned...

My vintage Bridgeport mill.

My beloved 1990 300ZX Twin Turbo. This car was my BABY! Words cannot describe...

Blitz wheels and Wilwoods.....$$$$$

The Z in all it's glory. I still can't believe it's gone.

How to make a 25 year old man cry like a baby.

I'm not sure, I was wondering the same but in the description of the Youtube video he said the cause was not yet known

I thought it was crazy how the frames of the R1 and R6 just vaporized... The only trace of them is whats left of the engines, the rotors, an exhaust can and what looks like a sprocket.

That sucks. It's crazy that it was hot enough to melt all the aluminum from the bikes. What sucks the most is that there were vintage and rare cars in there. I'd be more upset about those than the Z, it'd be easy to find another one of those. I can understand being upset about losing all the work put into it though.

I don't think I've been in a house with sprinklers out here, not even newer ones. Apartments and hotels yeah, but that's it. But you are right, it would make sense to have it at least in your garages and stuff.

Can you actually say that it would have saved everything without knowing the cause of the fire though? I mean I'm sure you know a lot more about that stuff than I but it looks like that fire had tons of fuel.

That sucks. I would probably be worthless for about a week and the local store wouldn't have anymore SoCo or JD.

As for fire suppression - Halon dump. That is all.

Halon 1301 is nice, but it is also expensive.

One problem with Halon is it, does not cover Class C Fires, Co2 Fire Suppression systems do 4 / 5 classes (Its impossible to cover all of class D)
