New Member..Possible future owner

I have just sold my 99 cummins extended cab, and am trying to decide on a replacement used truck..I love the looks of the colorado but have yet to drive one. i have seen some info about the bad heads, is that a common enough problem to look at another vehicle

It was a problem primarily with the earlier model years that had the 3.5L I5 (2004-2006). It looks like the problem was taken care of in 2007+ (not that it doesn't happen, but it is no longer a problem).

na that was about the 04-05 i think. its a non problem on other years why sell the cummins ?

needin the full 4 doors..no longer tow much..and the diesel was killin me

It was for the early '06 trucks as well. My '06 had the head replaced under the same extended warranty as the '04-'05s when it went south.

Yeah, that and I think by now (assuming buying used) 99% of them have been taken care of already.

welcome and keep us in the loop on what you are looking at buying. I love my crew but keep in mind the box is crazy small. mine is my mini van for the kids and weekend warrior for me

Welcome and good luck on your search for a truck , have you thought of a v8 Colorado ? Mine tows my 10k car trailer with wy wife's lifted jeep jku loaded down with camping gear just fine

The head issue was not as common as some state......maybe 1 in a 100.....if that.

Either way I'd still urge you to find one with the 3.7........they had more power without sacraficing the fuel. Go test drive this weekend.

I've owned mine since new in 2004 and still going strong
