After reading/answering a thread in the off-topic forum I could see that we have a lot of Photographers here. I figured I would start a thread for people to talk a lil about their equipment, their favorite shots, etc, etc.
Maybe one day this will grow into its own forum section, but we'll see how it goes for now.
Personally I've been shooting for almost 10 years, professionally for 6. I'm a Canon guy and love my 50d, have a few different pieces of glass but saving up now for the 16-35L (drool)
I use a uv filter to protect the glass and always run the lens hood unless I'm shooting indoors or in low light. The only other filter I use is a circular polarizer when I want to shoot wide open in bright light without freezing the wheel spin.
So im fairly new at this, have the Nikon P90 and teaching myself, would love to go to school to learn more.
These are from the flooding in nashville, i went out in it and had a ball! Again im just starting out so dont be too mean lol Also none of my photos are edited, unless they are resized. I dont understand all that editing stuff, i know how to do wording and borders and thats it
You guys take some great photos! I hope to get that good soon. I love the back road pictures, just something so peaceful about being out in the country and the scenery.
Picked up a Canon T1i last weekend and have taken a few pics, very much a beginner but at least learning from my mistakes. Found a really good book by Scott Kelby that explains the basics very well. The Digital Photography book, vol. 1 by Scott Kelby)
Lot of good information without alot of confusion.
Here are a couple taken today. A red shouldered hawk and one decent pic of a dragonfly of which there were thousands out today in Manassas Battlefield Park.
I only know how to do the thumbnails, sorry.
J-Bo- Best Buy and I got the EFS 55-250mm f/4-5.6IS lens as well.
Camera came with the EF-S 18-55 IS but wanted something to reach out a little further for the wildlife. Got a couple of uv filters mainly to protect the glass and a remote switch (RS-60E3) so I can try to get a decent shot of the lightning from the next storm, the last one would have been perfect, but I did not have the camera at the time.
Next up is a good tripod to replace the cheapo that I had for the camcorder.
That book I mentioned was REALLY good, and have improved a little from what I have learned from it.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
