Clutch's The Yeti build

So picked this new truck up recently.

2012 Colorado LT 4X4 - 5.3L V8.
Black interior with leather cashmere seats (power/heated).
Fogs, G80, PW, PL, auto dimming/temperature mirror, rear sliding window
Trailering package, appearance package, GM accessory grille, GM hard shell tonneau cover.

Gearing sucks since it's a Z85 (so 3.42 gears), but it has Z71 flares. Running stock 235/75/16 Wranger ST's.

Really only missing sunroof/Z71 gearing options wise. Beyond that this was damn near a $50k (cdn) truck taxes in. Scored a wicked deal on it, and I just broke 35,000kms (21,750 miles) on it coming back from a truck meet.

Re: Clutch's The Yeti build

Before I even bought the truck I put an order in for a set of OTTP Longtube headers. Once they show up I'll be taking the truck into an exhaust shop and getting a dual setup thrown together.

Yesterday I found an xtreme grille, so once that arrives I'll be swapping out the GM accessory grille for a white assembly.

As for right now I swapped over the SSSLD5 switchbacks and DRL mod on the truck. When the new DRL's show up I'm taking the retrofits off the red truck and throwing them on ol whitey here.

By next spring I plan on taking the CST kit off the red truck, and installing it and the upgraded front drive shaft on the white truck. Before then I'll be ripping off the sidesteps currently on the white truck and putting the super sliders from the red truck on the white one.

Talked to a Line X rep, and booked the truck in for bedliner (over the rail) tuesday.

Down the road, thinking cowl hood and eventually an Eaton E locker for the rear. The black bumper on the red truck stays with it, as will the 3" bodylift. Might eventually sell it or keep it; no rush.

Re: Clutch's The Yeti build

Yeah I wanted more power. Not going as high as the red one (aka no body lift) but still wanna lift this new one. Not in a hurry to lift though, looking to make the V8 sing first.

Re: Clutch's The Yeti build

Took off the OEM tonneau cover and will be selling it in a couple days. Also ripped out the drop in liner and left the truck with a Line-X distributor to get the box sprayed. few hours later and it was ready to go.

Re: Clutch's The Yeti build

Yeah this truck is an oddball. Not a lot going to get done soon as I start 24/7 rotation in like 2 weeks. That's going to go on for 6 months.

Anyways ripped off the side steps today.

Re: Clutch's The Yeti build

Installed my KrFab tow mounts/shackles today. I was supposed to install my rock sliders as well, but suprise, suprise they don't fit. The flat bracket that bolts to the frame sits too low. Never noticed this before as I had a body lift and I had more clearance. Fucking piss off.

So you need a body lift to get the sliders to fit?? Damn glad I've got one and don't plan on removing it! 😎 haha
