Ok, I'm REALLY stoked. Been looking for a C10 for years, and finally found exactly what I wanted. This is a 1968 shortbed, fleetside truck. New floor pans (from a donor), rockers, cab corners, shaved firewall, lots of new sheetmetal. I'm going to pick it up in the morning.
The plans are to swap the wild 383 stroker out of my el camino drag car into it, bag it, and tub it out with some WIDE meats under the ass end. It will get the usual shaving and cleaning up, but I want to leave it pretty stock looking since GM did such a good job designing it.
Here's a few pics that the current owner sent me, I'll get some more when I get it home. He has a complete front clip for it, plus 6 boxes full of the stock parts he pulled off when he stripped it down. The bed isn't bolted down in this pic, but I made him bolt it down for me to prove everything lines up correctly.
It's hard to find one of these for a decent price with a solid floor, so I'm really excited about having such a good truck to start building of off.
i fucken hate you hahahha. i want a 68 for my next complete project.
while i was there i couldnt find what i wanted and came accross a 64 that fitted the picture so we got that. i thouht this will do for now, play with it for a while and then get rid of it and find a 68 short bed when i finish with the 355. well since then they have changed our import laws in the last month a let me tell you they have gone to shit. i pretty much cant bring anything over that has more than a new paint job. everything else needs to be original which doestn make for a good project car.
anywho enough about my problems... i will just have to live through you indy!! i will be watching this!!
my father just finished a 72, well almost finished, getting air installed this week, and then it will be done, i'll post some pics up when he gets it back home, I am looking at a 67, that was restored back in the 80's, but needs redoing, it has a big block and 3 on the tree, with the small back window, and it is rust free, mostly needs freshening up.
love c10s. and very glad you didnt go stepside like everyone seems to love. classic trucks modded are so tits. i dont want to hate on the guys that love stock but shit you already gotta build nearly ground up, might as well make it your own. my buddy is wrapping up a 55 ford (the body is the only ford parts on it haha, s10 chassis, 383 stroker, etc... gm all the way lol) this/next month after nearly 3 years.
Finally did a little work on it. Havent touch the welder yet, but I'm working on the chassis:
The plan is to lay rocker with 15" x 16" wheels out back. The frame blueprint is about 90% done, still have to add body mounts, 4 link tabs, front bag plates, and a few other odds and ends. Steel should be here next week :naughty:
Looks awesome! Looks a lot cleaner than my '71 when I got it. Lemme know if you have too many extra parts for it that you need to get rid of  I got mine and 2 of my friends have a 69 and a 70.
Man I need to get mine finished! Need to make some time....
I have some inner fenders I'm trying to sell... one new, one used, but practically new. Been asking 150. Also have a sliding back glass that needs to go.
Yeah, I already got some good inner fenders
I have most of the parts to finish it, I'm down to the little stuff like a 71 grill, Steering column without shifter (Got a ratchet shifter on the floor now), and a brake booster that doesn't stick a foot off the firewall
If you need some Idea pics on the bagging, my buddy's lays frame on "stock" A-arms and trailing arms  Just send me a PM if interested.
Just so you guys know I'm not sleepin on the job, here's the four link designed:
That's laying rocker with 15 x 16 wheels out back, and a 30 x 18 R15 tire. Will be running 15 x 6's up front. And yes, the driveshaft loop needs to be taller lol.
I just need my girl to finance my addiction...
