Project: Sub Box Build Being a regular cap, real estate is a premium. So anything I do must be compact. Donor sub box: Dual 10" JL Audio W6 sub box and jack stand and brackets. Love free shit! Project Components Sub: One 10" JL Audio Dual Voice Coil model 10W6v2-D4 Sub Woofer Amp: Rockford Fosgate Punch P500-2 Capacitor: Directed Audio Essential 2.5 Farad Capacitor with both Volts and Amps Meter Wire: 4 ga. First thing I did was remove both sub woofers and take a shit load of measurements. ![]() Odd size. BIG Problem will not mount flush to the rear of the cab. ![]() ![]() The boyz ![]() ![]() ![]() I like the speaker guard, it's made of mesh steel and I don't have to worry about anything damaging the speaker. Really well made woofer! ![]() Now for the measurements before I start to cut shit up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cut off the right side of the box. The left side has the speaker terminal still attached to it.

The next step is to make the sub box fit flush to the rear of the cab. I used one of the jack stand brackets to prop up the box and happen to be the right angle. Love free shit! ![]() I'm going to modify the jack stand mounting bracket to secure the sub box. ![]() Now to test fit the box and see how far I can slide the seats back. ![]() ![]() Test fitting. Both box and cap needs to be moved as little more to the left. ![]() Painted the end of the sub box with bed liner paint. Mounted amp to the box to keep it compact. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Agreed, my sub box has the straight part against the rear of the cab and the angled side has the sub mounted

That's entirely too much wiring for me IMO. I have 2 10's with a 1500 watt amp. But I don't have the capacitor or the extra batteries. Lol Sent from my iPhone using AutoGuide.com Free App

I love everything youre doing.....except one question. Is that optimal airspace for that sub? Couldnt you do better making a longer box? Ported sounds bad ass in a reg cab.... I understand you wanting to use the old box, but its not very space efficient. Ok, that was like 2 or 3 questions. Would you like me to throw pics of some of my old set ups for ya....just for shits and giggles?

My sub is firing forward also, just my box has the straight part flush with the rear wall of the cab and the front of the box is angled. That way it offers more room to recline the seats

Thanks Guys! Yup I'm going to modify the jack stand mounting bracket to be a mounting cleat for the sub box. Will post up pics in a little while to show you what I'm up to.

Super, how long did it to put the Trans. cooler in. I'm putting one on to, I think the one I have is one step over the one that you have but it's very similar.
