Hmmm I guess I just like camping right on the water so that when we are hanging out and whatnot we could be hanging out at the waters edge. I dont think ive ever not camped on the waters edge.

camping in the summer isnt bad on the river if you have one of those cheep D battery powered fans for in the tent. Ive done it plenty times. My little fans holds 8 D cells and run all weekend.

Well if yall wanna be right on the water I know an AWESOME place in New Braunsfels but theres no camping its all cabins. Its right across the street from one of the shiterbaun parks too.

This would really be my pick it it was up to me. Decently nice places lots of room for bbq but the prices are higher.

The first place I posted isnt 100% camping thats just an option for people who done want to spend 180$ a night for a cabin

There are lots of places for tent camping right on the water along river road. I stayed at Billy goats gruff once and it pretty cool. Its basicly a guys huge backyard. He build bathrooms and showers down low and dosnt care much about what you do. He came and partied with us one night.

The camp grounds at the first crossing are cool becuase of the access to the rapids right at the camp grounds. Ive stayed there before and we never floated the river. We hung out at the falls all day and caught beer with fish nets when people flipped coming down. We got drunk for free that day.

Camping isn't that bad in the summer if there are showers around. But to me it is more enjoyable in the earlier parts of the year when it is cooler. I sweat enough at work, nice to be able to relax outside with people if you aren't sweating your balls off IMO

I am thinkng this will happen on a Saturday and maybe Sunday, camping will be an option for early birds, and party monsters, I am sure there will be a hotel around for those who can't stay away from comodities.

naw we need to stick to 1 location. spliting it up will ruin the event IMO. We need a place that offers both camping and rooms. I was thinkign make it a weekend thing. Fri, sat and leave out sunday afternoon

We partied at the hotel for SESM. We did the meet all day at the park, then came back to the hotel. We had the one side of the hotel, so we all just stayed over there and drank together. Worked out really well. If we did something like this, we would have to know a date in advance and call the hotel to block rooms all together so we don't disturb others.

Now im thinking that riverside place might be good because the camp grounds look like it might be better for our group with a lot of trucks. I notice that some of the places on the water they have limits on how many cars and people per spot. It would be crazy for people coming alone to have to rent there own spot just so they can park the one truck.
And im down for cooler weather camping also. Would be nice to do some hiking.

Oh and that place is real close to the canyon lake damn. Great place for photo ops.
