Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

Well, the canyon is gonna need tires soon and well I was trying to figure out what size I can fit under stock. I'm was gonna tbar crank the front and shackle the rear to get me 2in but i want to explore both what sizes fit under stock with the 15s and lifted with the 15's.

Re: Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

If you don't want to rub get some 32x10.5" tires...you might get a tad of rubbing when wheeling on 32x10.5 or 33x10.5, but with the right offset you should clear those on the street without rubbing.

Re: Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

i dunno man i have 31" 10.5 with my 2" tb crank and i rub on my sway bar with stock rims. depends how saggy ur tbs are though, seeing as u have an 05 with 107k+ on it which is around where my truck sits i think you would rub.

i did however have no rubbing before i cranked my TB

You can fit 33x1050's without rubbing too bad. Most you'll probably rub is the sway bar at full lock. I'd say stick with 31x1050's and you'll be good.

You're rubbing the sway bar because your torsion bars are cranked... it pulls the front wheels in closer to the frame

I understand that. He said he was thinking of possibly cranking his tb so I was just telling him my experience with a similar age and mile truck. And i also stated that i did not have any issue before cranking my tb.

It depends mostly on the offset of the wheels though...not all wheels stick out the same amount. You have to factor in the front suspension being a bit narrower after a TB crank. My factory 31x10.5 tires grazed the swaybar a tiny bit after the TB crank (2.5") where my 32x10.5 KM2's had lots of room to spare. All in the wheel offset. Wheel spacers can fix the narrower stance after a TB crank.

Sounds like he is using stock rims as am I.

Re: Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

And at the end of my last post I said that wheel spacers can stop that, allowing bigger tires to clear with stock rims after a TB crank than without.

Re: Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

I had the same question as Lou altough mine is already lifted with the 2.5" crank and 2" shackles. This thread is pretty confusing with all the back and forth, so will 32x11.5 work since you can't get 32x10.50 in a 15" stock rim, or do you need to get spacers? . Or are you stuck getting new rims with less backspace.

Re: Biggest fit tire under stock z71 susp??

Remember with spacers, you stick the tires out further, they are going to rub on other places.

Mines a 3 in TB crank with 31.5 tires with 15mm offset and it rubbed on the sway bar still

It worked for me without spacers. Minor rubbing at full lock.

Correct. Stock z71 4x4 with stock rims. 31"x10.5. No issues. Even now with my 2" lift the rubbing is very minor and only full lock to the right.
