Hey, I was talking to you a year or 2 ago, was just wondering how the ball joints were holding up? are you still running the stock crossmember? also do you still have the bumbstops in rear? how much does it bottom out. I haul my dirtbike around a lot so I expect to be bottoming out all the time
Sorry for the delay had computer issues last night. By flipping the upper ball joint you will gain a little lift I'd guess maybe half inch unless you fab up a spacer plate as well for more height. Crank the torsion bars a little will also do the same or combine them both for a lot more. No matter which way you go you will need to re-align the truck after.
flipwork I'm still running the 2/2 with the ZQ8 suspension. I have had really no issues, was a little fun to get aligned (get steering wheel straight but we got it) I honestly find the ride has improved over stock with the exceptions of the wheel well rubbing. Ball joints have been no issue at all, I grease them every 5,000 km when I do the oil change.
No not very hard at all took my time doing it probably about 2 hours +/-, I found the slowest part was taking a hack saw to cut the sway bar tabs off of the lower control arms so I could weld them back on if I ever wanted to, however the drop ball joints housing/casting has a much larger and stable mount than that little bracket anyways, so if one needed to you could cut the ball joint socket off and leave the sway bar mount. I f you have any further questions on them feel free to ask away, I'll offer the best help I can. Are you getting ready to drop it soon?
Ah right on, I know now, I have seen you in traffic out Sackville area. What further plans do you have for your truck? We should try to get a mini meet together sometime there is about 4 of us locals on here.
na i keep putting money into other investments, but i am saving up now for the drop kit, i think im gonna do the 2/2 with the 1" z85 drop spring and blocks, but ill deffintely tell you when i get it set up
