Welcome to the Nation.

That's not a complicated circuit. The switch grounds a signal circuit from the BCM. Remove the connector from the switch and jump the two connector terminals and check for the light in the instrument panel. If the light doesn't illuminate try cleaning the ground splice box mount located behing the air filter box in the eng compartment.
