I've owned a 2010 Colorado since new. It's black with black interior, crew cab, 4x4, z71 4.10 gears 5.3 motor. 225k miles and a spark plug came through the head. It still runs but it's over heating now.

I'm at a crossroads. I don't know if I should just sell it as is or just put an engine in it. Transmission has been flawless.

I could justify a full size since I have a project car now also. So theirs that.

Who has a good link to reman engines or should I just go through the dealer?

Definitely not a good idea to go to the dealership unless you have a lot of trust in them.
Do you know what damage is done?

The threads are stripped on the head. The spark plug just moves back and forth in it pretty freely. I'm assuming the head gasket might also be gone since it started overheating.

IMO...I would buy a gm performance package, 6.2 and 4L70e and have the gm dealer listed on the gm performance site install it. Or, any LS experience garage install it. Maybe a 2022 Silverado ZR2...
