Was wanting to know what year of the same truck i could put in my 5 speed gmc canyon, slipped a bearing and its cheaper to put a new engine in it since its got other issues like chocy milk in the oil
i dont know how to research this myself so im asking here, any advice or info would be nice, thanks

My understanding is the 2008-2012 engines will work fine. There were IIRC some minor changes with the '07 switchover from the 2.8 to the 2.9. Anything from a Colorado, Canyon or Isuzu I-290, I-350 or I-370. I'm not sure which Isuzu had the 2.9, but they are the same truck.

Isuzu I-290 had the 2.9L
Isuzu I-350 had the 3.5L
Isuzu I-370 had the 3.7L

Thanks for the clarification Blackwidow. I am not as up on the little brother of our GM models. Although I do see one in the area on occasion.
