So I finally decided to build a decent box for my 10" JL Audio 10w1v2's. I had some terribly undersized boxes for them previously, that I threw together with 1/4" plywood. This one I built out of 3/4 MDF like you should!!! I have about 8 hrs in it start to finish, and I provides more than enough cubic feet for these subs...

I would respectfully disagree. Subs will get beat up from lack of excursion space. Your sub and wood take up 5” of the 6” max space under that seat. The other inch left is taken up by the woofers surround. It have no real space to move. You should have at minimum 2” of free space for the subs to move.

Other then that it’s a decent box. The 3/4” is not exactly your friend here. 1/2” mdf would gain extra air space with minimum flex due to being sandwiched between the back seat and floor.

If you want real air space to get where you want to go rebuild the center console, and add it to your current box. A 1.5 cubic ft. Ported box works VERY well here matches with the right subs. I personally used 2 6.5” DB drive WDX 3k G2 on a WDX 2k amp. Tuned at 31hz with a 1.5 lbs of pol fill. It’s shockingly loud and gets real low.

I actually have the factory JL grills on the the speakers to make sure excursion is not inhibited in any way. I also put small bracing strips of MDF around the grills to make sure they wouldn’t get dented from the weight of passengers in the rear seat. I would love to be able to do the console, but unfortunately I have the bench seat in my truck....
