Hey guys, this will hopefully be the start to my build thread in an attempt to keep me motivated. I just bought a 2005 Crewcab 4x4 Colorado a couple months ago. I have big plans for it already.

I picked it up for 4K and then gave it a good cleaning. The day after I bought it, I found a 4" lift for $250 at the salvage yard so I put that on along with some cheap 35" tires and did a spring over conversion on the rear. I Also got a good deal on a toolbox from Autozone so I installed that as well. That brings us up to speed for the current mods from the last couple months.

In the mean time, I have been collecting parts for a v8 swap. So far I have bought a

-6.0 that will be pulled from my 4runner with the LSA supercharger
-6L80e out of a 2010 Tahoe
-Northwest fab Billet dual transfercase box
-Chevy NP205 transfercase
-Ford 9" rear axle
-Ford Superduty 1350 CV driveshafts
-Colorado V8 Manifolds
-ZL1 Camaro Wiring Harness
-2012 Malibu Foor shifter
-I machined an adapter for the 8 bolt NP205 to the 6 bolt pattern
-E67 ECM

Cleaned up and lift installed:

Body mount cut to clear 35's:

can you show the wiring patch for
The T43 TCM to the E67 ? Does the
V8 OS have the settings for the 6L80E ?
or does it run off the T43 only.

I don't really have any pictures of just the wiring for the 6L80e. It should just use the wires that normally go to the T42, but instead they get routed to the T43. Once the 6l80e is wired up, you just do a read of the PCM and TCM and it shows up as the E67 and T43 seperately. All the trans settings are in the T43. You just have to make sure the years of the PCM and TCM Operating systems are compatible with each other.
Looks great. Nice stance.

This has become my favorite build thread by far. You have a truly one of a kind drivetrain for a Colorado.

BTW: How did the front e-locker work out?
Holy crap!!!

Thank you! The front e-locker is in. Everything installed just fine. I still need to wire it up. I'm trying to decide where to put the switch. We got a little tease of snow a couple weeks ago, but now we have nothing. I havnt gotten to go test it yet :(
Well I had wanted to try running the 2500 knuckles and hubs this winter with stock H3 CV shafts. The H3 shafts are 33 spline on the hub end and they will pop right into my stock front diff. After comparing the CAD models of the H3 outer joint and a 2500 outer joint, I don't think the H3 joint will play nicely with the 2500 knuckle. The green is the H3, gray is 2500. The pivot point of them are about 1.25" apart. I guess the 2500 upgrade will have to wait until I have my Dana 44 diff is built and then I will use the 2500 CV's

Hi, does your Taurus e-fan keep your eng cool enough ?
Hi, does your Taurus e-fan keep your eng cool enough ?
currently no, but I don't think that's the fan's fault. It seems to run at about 210 degrees even going down the highway. I think I have too much stuff blocking airflow. I have the Heat exchanger out front, as well as the transmission cooler, power steering cooler, and the AC condenser. And I think think it has the stock radiator with 225K miles on it. I'm looking at the griffin radiator with a 2.6" thick core.
I just followed you on IG last night.

Impressive build and your fabrication/ing skills are stellar

YETTI,I have a custom all alum 2 core H3 rad a tried to use
but couldn't get to fit right. almost but not quite fit my e-fans.
If you would like to try it i can ship it to you. if it works out we can work
out a deal, it cost me $450.00, I used it for 2 weeks.
It was made by CRS rads.

I finally got to go wheel this thing! I went out New Years Day as well as last weekend. I broke a CV axle on New years, but swapped it out with a spare in less than 15 minutes. Nothing Broke last weekend surprisingly. We all played kind of hard. I temporarily hacked up my center console so I could mount the 2012 Malibu floor shifter as well. I need to wire it up so I can use the manual mode and select gears. Anyways... enough typing, here is a bunch of pictures.

That is a LOT of snow
That is a LOT of snow
About 4 feet in some spots if you were to dig down to dirt.
Truck is a beast! Awesome build!

A friend of mine got a few videos out wheeling. They are all on his Northwest Wheeling youtube channel

Where I broke my CV Axle

Awesome.

Again, Great stance.

What do you run as far as your triple stick is concerned in the snow?

(Case in high.....doubler in low etc..)
