And the i5 trans is different from the v8 trans
3.5 to 5.3 swap
Ok i have a 2004 colorado ls 2wd my 3.5 is blown and would like to swap it out for a 5.3 the transmissions are the same from what ive read but what else would need to be changed.

but basically you need
LSX engine of your choice
E40 or E67 ECM depending on motor
motor mounts
custom wiring harness
headers and custom exhaust
transmission or you can use your trans just have to swap the bellhousing with a lsx one
efans, radiator hoses, time, money, a place to work on it, etc.

Have to swap input shafts on the trans too. Not just bellhousing. New torque converter as well.
It would be worth your while to find an engine with a transmission already mated to it.
