Here's my final version.

Elbow from the Volant V8 kit
4" aluminium tubing and silicone coupler from Silicone intakes.com
bellows from 96-99 Vortec V8
Plenty of patience, but it came out well for about $75.00

Looks good. R u a tad low on Dexcool?
I like it. What did you. Do with the vent tube that plugs into the bottom of the resignation? Just out a filter on it?
I just got off the phone from Volant, the salesman would not sell me the tube.
said they don't sell parts from there kits
I have the volant intake off of my truck for sale for $100 it will need a new breather nipple installed i cut it off while mocking up my ls7 throttle body
The antique Tony CAI is still going after 55k miles.A member here was making them up.I believe Rshadd went with classic black. The road salt loves the polished finish.

How tight is that 90-degree elbow turning into the intake compared to stock?

Yep, I had mine powdercoated black. The 90° bend is really close to the fan and it takes some patience to align it so that it doesn't rub. I can appreciate the want for the volant tube as iI can see how it would make maintenance tasks easier.

Know exactly what your saying.I took a file and removed about 1/8'' from the corner of the fan blades just to add clearance and piece of mind.No issues.Tony can ya hear me? Where are ya?
Yes 4" should work.

I just put an intake on the Tahoe.......took me 15 mins from start to end. The nice thing about the full size is they have the eFans, so super easy to do
Volant sold me the elbow, told then I had a kit damaged in an accident. It doesn't surprise me they now saying they don't sell parts, they want you to buy the entire poor fitting kit from them. Screw em. Mine is better.

I used a threaded, barbed fitting and connected a hose to breather tube.
I told them that mine had been smashed in an accident, they said to send it back
and then they would sell me a new one.
