Hey. I wanted to do a 5.3 swap on my 04 canyon amd i was wondering how hard it would be and if there is any heavy modification needed

Perhaps you meant "Heavy medication needed".
Yep, the job could be done, but it would be a "Hum Dinger".
Think of it like putting a Detroit Diesel in a VW beetle.

Plenty of 5.3 swaps out there, check the engine swap section

For a gen 3 5.3L
You'll need an e40 pcm, trailblazer ss gas pedal, custom harness, ls engine mounts, LS bell housing and input shaft for the auto trans or an LS adaptor if you have a factory 5 speed, you need to "massage" the firewall a bit, power steering and ac lines and exhaust manifolds from a factory 2009-2012 5.3L Colorado/canyon

Probably some stuff I'm missing

For the 2011 year is the tb gas pedal needed?
