What years and /or models of Colorados / Canyons came equipped with an 8.6 inch rear differential??? I've seen various references to the 8.6 inch differential but have never actually found one in a Colorado or Canyon. The Chevy Trailblazer and its GM counterpart have an 8.6 inch but the axles are wider and have a different wheel bolt pattern. If available, were they made in both the standard Z85 rwd width and the wider Z71 4x4 axle???

09+ v8's only. There are zq8 and z71 v8's so both widths should be available unless they used the rims to change the stance on the newer ones. Rshadd could answer this for you because he has a zq8 v8.

You could consider using an Isuzu Rodeo axle which is actually a Dana 44, will fit the GM wheels, has disc brakes, 4.30 gears, and posi. Any gear ratio you can imagine is available for the Dana and the parts are reasonably cheap too. Use the search feature "Rodeo axle".
