Any 2.5 four-cylinder owners?

I can't believe that nobody has ever posted in this forum.

Does anyone own a 2.5 four-cylinder truck? I like the idea that the 2.5 equipped trucks come with a 4.10 differential gear. I've considered a 2.5 for awhile now but it doesn't come with a substantial fuel economy gain over the six and it probably has a poor resale value on top of that.

But if you have a 2.5 what are your impressions?

2.5? What make and model truck are you referring to?

2015+ came with a 4 cylinder 2.5L gas engine option. That is why this is posted in the 2nd generation I-4 engine section

Check coloradofans.com.... 2nd gen owners are real active on that forum
I have been a member for many years but sold my 2007 3 years ago. I now own a 2016 colorado. I was wanting the V6 but I fell into a deal for the 2.5 4 cylinder I just could not pass up.
First off in my eyes it's a truck it's not a sports car I'm not going to tow anything so massive horsepower or torque is not something that I necessarily needed. Mine is lifted with a 5 1/2 inch BDS suspension kit and a 1 1/2 Zone body lift with 33x12.5x20's. Acceleration off the line is not impressive yet substantial as long as you tune your transmission for 33 inch tires. I'm happy with my purchase. I bought mine red taged for 8,000 under MSRP. I'm sure it was because it was the 4-cylinder and not very desirable but for me it's perfect.

Wait what? 3 years? Looks like you’re old truck reborn!

New and improved. :355group:
I recently purchased a 2.5 6-speed manual and love it. As you can see from my sig I use to own a '05 regular cab with the 2.8L 5-speed manual.

After owning both trucks I have to say that the new 2.5L is night & day better then the old 2.8L. Don't get me wrong I loved my '05 but I really like my new '19 Canyon.
the 2.5 is DI + same or similar to girlfriends 13 malibu engine, better torque + mpg's compared to my 2008 2.9 port injected but hers sucks some oil at only 60 thou but still runs fine without carbon issues common in some DI engines.
I have a 16 2.5 and I really like it. Gas mileage is great. I average right around 25 mpg city and hwy. I achieved a best of 33 mpg running 70 mph back in March when my wife and I went to Texas to visit our daughter. I don't tow or haul anything so a 2.5 was the logical choice.
Do they offer it with the automatic and a different gear ratio?
To my knowledge, that's the only gear ratio offered with the 2.5. Mine is a CC automatic.
hi. i bought a 2016 colorado crew cab LT brand new with the 2.5 I4 vvt engine. It has 55,000+ miles on it. I have a pop up camper that weighs about 1,500 lbs and I completely load the back seat and bed with equiptment. It has plenty of power for what I need. Ive never had any problems at all. I use 5w 20 full synthetic. Still runs like new. Best truck Ive ever had and ive had plenty. I just pulled my camper to the N.C. mountains and had no power issues driving up the steep roads fully loaded down. I believe a truck is not supposed to be fast. Just functional for your needs.
too bad standard cabs are gone, the lightweight of my 08 standard cab standard tranny helped performance + love how easy to park, not fast but fast enough to be functional
