Baking headlights

Hoping someone has some insight on this. I bought new headlights to do a projector retrofit. Tried baking a DRL this morning at 170 degrees and left it in for 20 mins. Didn't have much luck getting it apart. Some of the edges look like they separated a little bit but not enough for me to see any of the sealant. Put it back in for 5 minute intervals with no change. No clue if maybe these have the different sealant that is in newer lights? Anyway to know? Didn't want to push it as I've heard some members have cracked the plastic from baking too long.

Just looked at the other DRL, nvm my comment about it separating a little, looks like that is normal. So these haven't separated at all from baking.
If they are tyc ..I do mine at 220-225 for 15-20 min. Start on bottom side..opposite the reflector. If you run into problems shoot me a text 518-481-7691 ..

I'd love to make a new or updated how to for that this weekend ..additional info
Thanks Dan, I'll give it another shot at that temperature later tonight. I also realized that I didn't get tyc, I've got eagle eyes. If I don't have any luck then my guess would be that the eagle eyes use the newer sealant.
Dreaded permaseal

Heres a thread when i tried my first set, my factory 2012's headlights. http://www.355nation.net/forum/exterior/61355-newer-headlights-fogs-permasealed.html

Try 285ish for 15 mins, i hear thats the new magic number for permaseal. you'll also need to remove every bit of it and replace it with butyl. Goodluck

Thanks for the tip. Is that still a safe number to bake at if it just so happens that it's not permaseal? or should I just try it how Dan mentioned and if that doesn't work then try again a separate time at 285?

baked a couple set's of depo's at 285, resealed them all (with new and old butyl) i never had a issue. Never tried eagle eyes or tyc's yet. If you'r cautious and let the oven heat up properly, dont let it touch any metal, keep your eye on it etc etc you shouldnt have a issue.

Try bumping the temp up 10* each time from 225 if you don't feel too comfortable jumping right into the 285. you could get lucky and your original temp was just too low.
I just did my headlights and they cam apart no problem. I'll be tackling my drls again tomorrow and try what you've suggested. Thanks for the input, I'll let you know on here how it goes
I had zero luck baking stock, But did get it apart. Aftermarkets(Eagle Eyes), seal is as easy as melting butter.
