Best exhaust?

hello i have a 2005 gmc canyon crew cab sle 4x4 with the 3.5l engine. Just wondering what muffler will sound the best. I know its based on personal opinion but I'm looking for a deeper more throaty sound. Id rather it sound like a v8 than a honda civic with a broken muffler :yup:. I have herd that the super 44 by flow master is a good muffler. anyone else running it and like it?

i have used many different exhaust setups on our trucks. i had a 3.5l and now a crew 3.7l 4x4 i by far would choose the hushpower shorty muffler again on our trucks it makes a distinct sound but doesn't sound like a 4banger screaming down the road which is not what i was looking for at all. great power as well might be able to post up another video of my exhaust but i have a header installed now so it is a bit louder than when i had all stock pipe the the muffler. Hope this helps you some the muffler was fairy cheap as well its designed for street hot-rods.
If it has Flowmaster or magnaflow just run from it overpriced junk.

I have pics of my old magnaflow muffler and resonator both burnt out after 3 years 80 thousand Km.

Go check borlas website just type in Colorado they are blowing out the cat backs really cheap. Or just order a borla pro xs muffler and call it a day. Best build quality and warranty and to me and others the best sounding exhaust for these trucks.

All other systems will just add noise and drone and don't flow much better than stock.

What's the part number for just the Borla muffler to fit a 05 crew cab?
Go under your truck and measure the length of the stock one and then go to borlas web site and get a close match.

The longer you go it will not be as raspy.
Part #40358 sound about right?
The 40358 will work. It is not the same length as the stocker. If you extend the tail pipe all the way out the side or back the noise level will be bareable. Its pretty loud anytime your giving it gas .
I have the 40358 and it is about 1/2 -2/3 the length of a stock muffler. The sound is amazing though and if you run it out the side or back it shouldn't drone too bad
Sweet! I'll order it tonight!
Got the muffler put on! I should have went with offset on both sides instead of center and offset but no biggie! Sounds pretty good for a 5 cylinder, lol
Go stainless...... Or else, you'll be replacing it in 4-6 years.

Just wait another week or two and it will be broken in...it will get a bit deeper and more "growly" lol

The Borla is stainless, so hes good.
Dynomax makes a great kit for the 5.3 v8, very easy to install and sounds great. I did mod it to exit behind pass. side rear tire instead of straight out the back.

Good! My wife hates it already! Lol
If needed add a Borla resonator before the muffler.

Don't use the magnaflow one.
After doing the muffler what would you guys recommend I do next to my exhaust?
