Well is being awhile I haven’t been able to post any progress.. I decided to pull cab off and bed and clean up the chassis , replace my suspension with qa1 cool overs and rear qa1 shocks.. also sent upper and lower arms to get powder coated and I will be installing new bushings and ball joint.. I am also modifying fuel pump and I Also sold the Ls3 engine and order a new fully built 416 short block from Thompson motors sport and had pat g spec out a new cam for this built..

Well finally got the chassis painted , looking good. Will be installing the front suspension this week.. engine should be completed in about 3 weeks hopefully.. also bought new rocker arms and installed Che trunion kit

Well just finish installing most of the front suspension
Auto part Suspension part Vehicle Motor vehicle Tire
Also replaced inner and outer tier rod end on the rack.. should have the rest of the suspension done by the end of the week . Bought the qa1 spacers from Ron the wolf excellent fit ...

Well some more progress! Next week I will be pulling the bed and working on the rear of truck . Painting , lowering and adding qa1 rear shocks.

Removed bed and differential. Ordered new leafs springs, shackles, frame bushing and some rear qa1 shocks.. getting rear of frame ready to c notch and also wire brushing all frame and spraying frame with ospho to get it ready for some paint.

The frame is super clean now! That is alot of work!

I have been slowly cleaning my frame as well, but being in the rust belt makes it very challenging to say the least!

On the frame just to the rear of the transmission cross member, located on top of the frame is a small "knob" looking mount with a short little bracket welded on it that mounts to nothing, any idea what that is for?

It is easier to use your pictures, number 2 of 18 shows this doo-hickey on the top, outside of the frame.
I see why you are talking about , not sure why they were put there for. I will ask a friend that works for gm to see if he knows and I will get back to you.

Well finally got the rear part of the chassis painted. Waiting on the leaf spring shackles and hangers to come back from powder coat tomorrow and will be putting new leafs springs and finishing up bolting on rear end and then finishing the cnotch. Now if only my engine will arrive😢 Frankenstein heads are in back order😭😭😭😭
