While General Motors have never really acknowledged their mistake here with a recall of any kind, the automaker will be fitting the newly built Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon with a new tachometers that will now display the correct number.
This issued came up when a Chevrolet Colorado driver reported that the spec sheet of the Chevrolet Colorado and the actual vehicles does not match up. T
he spec sheet indicates that he Chevrolet Colorado should be giving out 6800rpm but the tachometer shows a redline at 6500rpm.
According to the spokesperson from GM, the problem lies with the meter and not with the vehicles or the spec sheets. He explains that the graphic on the tachometer is slightly off. General Motors will be rectifying this problem by putting on the right graphic for future trucks, which means those trucks that has the wrong graphic right now will just have to live with it.
