My latest project. The chrome on my grill started wrinkling up all over the place and I thought to myself… I’ll just peel it off and then paint it. Well it seemed pretty easy at first, but only where it wrinkled up, the rest of it was stuck pretty good. I pulled it off and put it on the workbench. It doesn’t rest or position very well, I had to build a wooden fixture to help hold it. Three days later and 12 beers it was finally ready for paint. I had like 20 little paper cuts on my fingers from peeling that chrome. That is real chrome, copper, nickel and clear coat, sharp as a razor.

That looks really good. I need to do this to my 07 Colorado. I do like your beer time clock.

Question. Are your fender flares factory or aftermarket? I am looking for flares for my truck.

Yeah they are! I was able to find a guy parting out a Colorado on FB Marketplace. I do not see good units at the junk yards. Plus they do tend to be expensive at the U Pull yards. Mine were rust stained and had some rash on them, but looked nice once I cleaned em up and painted.
