I've heard they have an internal temp gauge... does it have an overtemp warning that flashes on the DIC?

Just curous... I'll be towing 5000 lbs and am installing a B&M supercool auxillary trans cooler w/ the oem one and am debating on installing a gauge.

However... I'm thinking it'll be overkill and I'll be fine w/o one, so... if there's an oem warning that'll seal the deal.

Can always go with a Scangauge II or similar OBD connected device. They give all kinds of readings including temps, voltage, etc. Don't know if programming still required for Trans Temps. I have gauges on car & 2010 Colorado. Get trans temps on truck, but unit in car will not display.

The Aeroforce Gauge on my 2006 shows transmission temp.
I would think you would get a check engine light at least.
Not sure though.

A scangauge II will also show temp with minor programming. The info is in the manual I think I have run one for many years but not towed that heavy. A cooler is good insurance for the longest life of an auto trans. esp when you tow..
Luck
