I've heard they have an internal temp gauge... does it have an overtemp warning that flashes on the DIC?

Just curous... I'll be towing 5000 lbs and am installing a B&M supercool auxillary trans cooler w/ the oem one and am debating on installing a gauge.

However... I'm thinking it'll be overkill and I'll be fine w/o one, so... if there's an oem warning that'll seal the deal.

1. The PCM does not illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp.
2. Check Trans Fluid and Trans Hot.. IDLE ENGINE messages are displayed in the DIC.
3. The PCM freezes transmission adapt functions and stores CEL P0218.

CEL P0218 Transmission Fluid Overtemperature.
But... Here are the conditions that trip the CEL and DIC message:

The transmission fluid temperature is greater than 266°F for 10 minutes.

^ OK... cool so it operates under similar parameters to my Vette... only seen the trans overtemp once and that was driving a buddies Z06 on track w/ the original stock fluid in it. Light comes on at 26X degrees.

^ I found that last night... I love it... I'll be adding one if I need it... no tapping of anything and lots of other data points.
