obvious question, did you check the fuse for the heaters, mine is blown

I know, both seats aren't working. So I will check the fuse and go from there.
if the fuse is ok, more than likely the heater elements in the seat are bad. you can check the elements with a ohmeter, disconnect the heater element connector and check the resistances across the element connector should be .5 to 2 ohms.

If the heaters in both seats are not working it's probably a power or ground problem. The ground for the seat heater circuit is G106, behind the air filter case. The passenger seat belt has to be buckled for the heat to work.
Pass heated seat does work. Now only the driver heated seat not working.

I just bought a 2005 Colorado and the drivers seat heat turns itself on every time i get in the truck. Do these seats have memory, is there a way to reset it? What could the problem be? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

No seat memory. Does it turn on with the switch in the off position? Is the side cover for the seat hitting the switch and turning it on when you sit down?
The button always turns itself to high and then i have to push it down to the neutral position. I don't notice anything hitting it when I sit down but I can look again next time I get in.
That is about the only way the heat will get turned on. The circuit is always "hot". BCM not involved. Remove the cover from the side of the seat and see if it still happens.
just thought i would chime in and let you know that i have the exact same issue. looking out to see if anyone knows how to and how much it costs to replace the heat elements

The heat element for the seat back is part number 89041526. You can Google the part number for sources, but it looks like gmpartsdirect.com has about the best price at $83. You have to watch their shipping charges, though. The heat element for the bottom cushion is part number 19149054. Same info as above with the price of $138. Dealer prices are $123 and $204 respectively.

If you decide to replace them yourself, I can hook you up with the required instructions.

Could you please send me the instructions as well. My driver side is also not working. Im going to ohm it out when I get a chance but have checked fuses and the lights work on the switch so im guessing I have an element out. How do you know if the back or bottom one? Thanks.
