There seems to be a growing number of rod bearing failures on the 4200s (usually #3 to 6) and I'm curious if the I4&5 are suffering the same issue. On some engines it even with frequent oil changes and running premium oil/filters.

So if you have had a rod bearing go on you please fill in the poll.

Where is the "NO" I have had no problems in this poll ??? That is my vote... I own a 4200 and a 2800....Both perform perfect !!!

3.5 at 145k. No problems. Even got the original head.

04 i5 blew the motor at 152k broke the top of the piston #2 I believe. haven't looked at the lower end of the block but I suspect the rod is toasted along with some bearings I only removed the head and saw the piston
