Good morning,

If you read my post about the skid plates, you know I am pissed that the lift did not allow 33 x 11 tires.

Spent time on youtube watching fenders being trimmed before tearing into my truck.

The arm sticking out of the frame,
I cut an X in it, took out a half in vertical piece and
beat the daylights out of it with a BFH!

Next step will be asking my tire shop to loan me a 35 take off to try on.
If it is too big I will try a 34.
If it is to big it is back in the garage and more time on the fkn arm sticking out of the frame.
May have to cut it back and take it to a welder to put a plate over the hole.

Wear goggles when using the cutoff wheel. Glasses are not enough to keep the metal flakes out of your eyes.

The foam glue tape grey crap that held on the plastic flare . . .
what is the easy way to remove it?

I try to get big stuff off with a finger/thumb naiI, then I use mineral spirits (paint thinner). Won't harm paint. Will need wax after. Some recommend Goo Gone, but that is just mineral spirits with perfume.

Get a 3M removal wheel for a drill, at the auto parts store, for removing the sticky stuff. Will not harm the paint.

That’s the body mount bracket. Do yourself a favor and open it up so it can be cleaned out. I chopped mine during a project and look at what I found. I fixed it but I’m glad I found it while I still could.

That looks like a difficult cut, did you have the body off the frame? Maybe you had it up on a lift?
On a side note, the little cutting I did made a lot of smoke, the frame gets very hot, sparks everywhere, fire is a real possibility, will move the truck outside next time I cut.

It wasn’t fun to cut. I did it on jack stands with a few different cutting tools. I ended up having to cut most of the mount off in order to repair the rust hole. It took me half a day to complete.

A little where the circle is, at full turn. If I get out while it is in that spot I can push my finger in, the mud guard flexs in, surprised it has not rubbed a spot, I can hear it in the truck when it rubs.

Plenty of room to the body mount, I had a welder cut it and cover it for me.
