Iridium plugs are good for like 100,000 miles.
Old fashioned $0.99 plugs were good for 25,000 miles.

But you can change those expensive ones often if you want.

Without having changed plugs myself, I'd have to guess no mileage increase. If the truck ran normally before hand, then they were not to the point where they were inefficient. An investigation of the plugs you pull can help tell too. Were they tan in color, and pretty equally gapped across the 5? Did the electrodes appear damaged in any way?

The computer should have controlled a good fuel/air mixture. The plugs should have fired well if they were not damaged, just as well as the new ones will.
