Fog Light Stock Switch

So my Colorado did not come with stock fog lights from the factory. I want to put some stock ones or aftermarket ones that look like OEM in the stock locations. I am wondering tho, can you swap out the non fog light switches for an OEM that has the fog light option. Then wire them to fog lights.

I see many people who had this issue either wired the fog lights through existing switches or added AUX ones. I want to try to add a stock switch panel for stockish fog lights.

It is nowhere near cost effective to use the stock switch, you would have to purchase: lights, switch, relay, & oem fog light harness. You'd have install all of it, install the harness & tie it into the fuse box, and then take it to dealership to have the BCM programmed. The stock switch doesn't turn the lights on, it just tells the BCM to turn the lights on and the BCM triggers the relay to turn the lights on.
^^^Agree^^^

You might be look'n for the OEM stock config, but it comes at an immense cost. Much easier/cheaper/sensible to get a set of std lights @ Wally World and wire them up to a toggle...JMO.
There is a cheaper way but it requires about 5 relays to switch the momentary pulse of the stock switch to latch power. There might be spdcial relay that can do this. Then you'd just have to run wires to the fogs from the switch. Thats how i did it jn my blazer when i added fogs.

In my Silverado it was w/t and it came pre wired I put the stock fog switch and work all I had to run was wires to the fog from the fuses block, I just start on my new project its a HHR LT no fog I got the switch and it's also pre wired also.... I would find the someone to let you try there switch and look for the fog relay ( add one if missing) if you get on and off at the relay with a tester all you need is a fog light harness you can get them on eBay $12-$15 well good luck
I have a factory headlight switch w/fog that I also cut the harness for a pigtail. I also cut the factory foglight connectors..............so you would just need the OEM foglights and run the wiring in between.

Let me know if your interested in them
Thanks guys for the insight, definitely looks like its better just to use Aux switches. Where do y'all mount those in your trucks? Any body know a good How-to link to do this work?
Common spots: cavity under parking brake release, gauge bezel next to the steering column, next to cigarette lighter ports, under HVAC controls, in the dash underneath the steering column, or hidden under the dash mounted to something metal down there.

Really just depends on what's convenient and where you want it.

Bringing this back from the dead... I was thinking about getting the power of the third brake light and switching the buttons in the switch in the OEM switch to make it work...
Any thoughts? I really want an OEM switch but don't want to pay the Stealership $100 to reprogram my BCM for some fog lights.
Thanks guys.
I think that I'm actually gonna do this to get the results I want.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
