I recently purchased a used gauge cluster off of ebay because I plan on sending my stock cluster out to get the leds changed. I have researched this topic and was under the impression that the BCM stores the miles for the the truck and that once the new cluster is put it that it will change itself to the correct mileage. I put the new cluster in and it did not change mileage nor does it even keep track of mileage. The total miles stays the same and the trip doesn't leave zero. Does anyone have and ideas on this? Thanks
I've already done that. I've already driven it for around 30 miles. I'm pretty much stumped especially after reading everyones comments about how the correct mileage just popped up all of a sudden.
Well I tried unhooking the battery and have now driven about 50 miles. Still reads the miles from the truck it came from and it's not even reading any new miles whatsoever.
strange, mine went out a year or so ago and was replaced under warranty and the first one we put in had 6000 miles on it when my truck had about 25k miles, we changed it 3 more times.. never went back
