Re: GeorgiaBoy's Build Thread *Up Up and Away!*

Also small update. I cut my primary cat open about 2 years ago to hit it and didn't have access to a welder so my father and I brazed it shut.

Well the braze didn't last and eventually turned into a hellacious exhaust leak. I tried cat weld and muffler wrap to keep if from being so bad to no avail. The cracks got so bad I hated hearing my exhaust.

Anyways on the the pictures. I plan to swap my motor in the next month or so and I didn't care what it looked like. The brazing and cat putty didn't make quite a good surface to ground nor weld so I had to cake it in there to seal.

No shop would let me buy a used manifold. So the bottom line is she's quiet like she should be and I can't be happier. It's ugly as sin

Small little update. Been busy packing and getting ready to move so haven't been able to do much to the truck. Cleaned up the fender wells and cleaned up the brackets for the Bullmax and mounted them for install hopefully tomorrow

Also forgot that I added a Gentex 177 single line mirror to the truck. (Wish I had gotten a 2 line) Got the compass programmed and all I have to do is wire in the sensor. I believe I have the wires at the fender since I have the green with stripe and yellow wire listed in the wiring diagram at the mirror plug

Clean inner fenders is one thing that most don't ever do. Looks moar better when clean...

I do mine a few times a year at least and hit them with some tire shine. Makes it easier to clean the next time :yup:

Amen there. I've never really cleaned mine up before but it does make it look so much better and cleaner I will say. Need to still replace the front two liners from when I was lowered and the tires chewed thru them.
Might have to throw a little Meguiars tire shine on them to see how they look. I'm really starting to take a lot better care of the truck like I use to and fix a lot of small detail things I've let slide for years

Re: GeorgiaBoy's Build Thread *Up Up and Away!*

I let mine get cleaned with dirt :)

I actually just threw my front fender liners in the trash...they were in the way.

Looking good man!

Thanks Larry! Not a bad idea, mine will get cleaned this Sat with some :bestest:

I probably should remove mine to make way for some suspension parts from you....

Re: GeorgiaBoy's Build Thread *Up Up and Away!*

Went playing in the sun and mud at the Tallahassee mini meet Saturday and got stuck at one point and time. Stupid open diff!

After I got back I started tackling my mirror mod and finished it up. Wiring was super simple since wires were already there at the filter box. The sensor and pigtail I got from the junkyard were perfect and exactly what I needed so I ended up cheap into this mod and I love it!

I finally got around to putting my bumper back on as well as mounting the Bullmaxx once she was back on. Factory fogs I added need to be removed now and I need to sell my stock smoothed/painted valence as I didn't wanna chop it up to fit the Bullmaxx.

Also took cues from @1BADI5 build and decided to install a catch can like he did. Mine isn't as pretty as his is but once I swap my motor I'll do it 100% clean.

I missed my map lights so much and found myself reaching for them and not being there that I picked this up today. Gunna dye it a different color and install along with some other goodies!

Re: GeorgiaBoy's Build Thread *Up Up and Away!*

Also cleaned the catch can on my trip back home and after ~300 miles I found this... About .25 ounces of oil so she's doing exactly what I wanted and keeping my intake and PTB clean

Finally got around to cleaning the underwood of the truck after the off-road adventure the other day and found this guy looking ugly so I'll be looking for a new pressure hose for the ac system here soon before this one bites the bullet on me one hot summer day

GeorgiaBoy's Build Thread *Up Up and Away!*

Dam I really can't believe nobody hasn't even commented on none of my stuff... Maybe I should lower again and everyone will blow up my build again?!? :Kiki:

Anyways here's a new pic of the truck. What's everyone using to clean the engine bay and leave a nice shine but not greasy feel? I've gone thru a few things and use to use tire wet on a rag but you have to clean it so often since it attracts everything.

Also been moving today and threw the rack back on the truck to move some of my bigger things that won't fit in the bed now with the topper on.

Other note! I need to take off my factory fogs they just look goofy as hell. Been trying to decide on a light bar either 20" or 22" for the Bullmaxx and waiting for an eBay seller to reply to a question. Trying not to spend an arm and a leg since I'll be headed back to school here soon and not working so much

Ha! That is how I always feel in my build thread. Posting transmission build pics, head pics ,etc etc but i get very few replies or comments lol

All good though. Truck looks good and you are right, the fogs do like kinda goofy without a bumper around them lol.
