On my 04 canyon when i turn the heater on most of the time it makes a really loud rattling from under the hood. If i turn the heater off it goes away about a second after. I dont know exactly how the heater works. Could it be a bearing or something?

The heater is pretty low tech. Basically you have a heater core under the dashboard. It's basically a small radiator. You have two heater hoses that circulate water from the radiator into and out of the heater core. When you turn the temperature knob to heat, it opens a door under the dashboard to make the fan blow air across that heater core to put warm air where you want it to go. I'm guessing the noise you're hearing is probably the fan. Can you hear it inside the truck too? The fan is located behind the glove compartment. Do you hear the noise when you turn the A/C on? If not, I have no idea what the problem is.
